Yanina Malash, deputy chairperson of the Free Trade Union of Metalworkers (SPM), liquidated by the authorities, was released after serving her entire sentence.
The political prisoner served a part of her term in the pre-trial detention center, and later was transferred to Homel women's colony № 4, from where she was released on May 27, 2023. Yanina was kept in prison for 1 year, 1 month and 8 days.
It is also known that the SPM activist was included in the "list of extremists" earlier this year, which currently includes about 2,500 people.
Yanina was convicted on November 15, 2022, by the Maskouski District Court of Minsk. She was charged under Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code (active participation in actions that grossly violate public order) and sentenced to one year and six months in jail.
