Yanina Malash was added to the “list of extremists”

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus has updated the list of persons considered "extremists". Another 28 people have been added to it. Among them is Yanina Malash, deputy chairman of the Free Trade Union of Metalworkers (SPM).

On 10 February the Ministry of Internal Affairs once again updated the "List of citizens of Belarus, foreign citizens or stateless persons involved in extremist activities". Now it contains 2,416 people.


Trade union activists - Aliaksandr Mishuk, vice-chair of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union (BNP) and Yanina Malash, deputy chair of the Free Trade Union of Metalworkers (SPM) - were included in it as well.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs includes those who are currently serving time in prisons, and those who have already been released, and even those whose convictions have already been served. A number of activity-related bans are imposed on those who are on the list. In addition, financial operations of citizens included in the "List of extremists" are subject to special control in accordance with legislative acts.
