On November 17, in Vilnius, a picket in solidarity with the political prisoners of Belarus was held in front of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Lithuania.
Representatives of the Lithuanian trade union "Solidarumas" organized a picket in support of the arrested leaders of independent trade unions of Belarus and against the repression of Lukashenka's regime.
Over the past year about four dozen Belarusian trade union activists were imprisoned in Belarus, and the number of all political prisoners is approaching 1500 people
Among them are chairman of the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions Alexander Yaroshuk, his deputy Sergei Antusevich and vice-chairman of the BNP Alexander Mishuk. It was with their portraits that Lithuanian brothers and sisters stood in front of the embassy of the neighboring country, chanting "Zhyve Belarus!
Trade union chairman Kristina Krupavičienė, her deputy Rimtautas Romanauskas, trade union leader Stanislavas Fedaravičius and other activists took part in the picket.
