Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk was again put in disciplinary cell after transfer to Homyel pre-trial detention facility

The political prisoner Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk has been transferred back to the Homel pre-trial detention facility where she was immediately put in a disciplinary cell.

Palina’s husband Andrei Sharenda reports that investigative activities in the other case opened against Palina under Article 411 of the RB Criminal Code (willful disregard of the penitentiary administration’s legitimate demands) have been concluded. Reports say that the political prisoner has been transferred from the Rechyts temporary detention facility to the Homel pre-trial detention facility.

When her relatives phoned the Homel detention facility, asking if she was in good health and if it was possible to send her some money, they were told that Palina had been put in a solitary confinement cell for 10 days.

The trade union and civic activist Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk was first detained in January 2021 and remains in jail to this date. She was convicted twice under Article 411, and in May 2024 she was to be released, yet they accused her of “insubordination” for the third time. The political prisoner has two sons, Slavamir and Stakh, waiting for her at home.
