All political prisoners in the "Rabochy Rukh" case have been transferred to colonies

It has been reported that all ten political prisoners in the "Rabochy Rukh" case have been transferred to penal colonies. All of them were accused of "high treason," as well as a number of other articles of the Criminal Code. The political prisoners did not plead guilty in the case.

After the Supreme Court, chaired by Judge Uladzimir Davydau, considered the appeals of the political prisoners and approved their sentences on July 28 this year, the process of transferring the prisoners to colonies began.


Siarhei Shelest was sentenced to 14 years in prison and sent to IK-15 Mahiliou;


Uladzimir Zhurauka – 15 years in prison, sent to IK-2 Babruisk;


Andrei Paheryla – 14 years in prison, sent to IK-2 Babruisk;


Hanna Ablab – 11 years in prison, sent to Gomel Women's IK-4;


Aliaksandr Hashnikau – 14 years in prison, sent to IK-1 Navapolatsk;


Siarhei Dzyuba – 12 years of imprisonment, sent to IK-3 Vitsba;


Ihar Mints – 12 years of imprisonment, sent to IK-17 Shklou;


Valiantsin Tseranevich – 12 years of imprisonment, sent to IK-1 Navapolatsk;


Siarhei Shametska – 12 years of imprisonment, sent to IK-22, Ivatsevichy district;


Aliaksandr Kapshul – 15 years of imprisonment, sent to IK-15 Mahiliou.


In addition, the convicts are fined from 100 to 500 basic units. All convicted activists were put on the lists of "extremists".


"Rabochy Rukh" was formed in 2020. It united Belarusian workers, including leaders and activists of strikes and trade unions. Among the convicted are 6 activists of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union.
