"Trade union activism is not extremism!"

The "Trade Union Activism Is Not Extremism!" campaign aims to draw global attention to the severe violations of workers' rights in Belarus. The Lukashenko regime continues its policy of police terror, repression, and persecution of independent trade union activists, subjecting them to arrests, torture, and designation as extremists.

We demand the immediate release of all political and trade union prisoners, an end to repression against activists, and the restoration of independent trade union rights. The campaign is organized by the Solidarity Association and the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions.

This initiative marks the anniversary of the mass repressions against trade unions in 2022 and will run from March to June 2025.

For Workers' Rights in Belarus

16 April 2025

Day of Action for Trade Union Rights and Democracy in Belarus

On this day, we unite our efforts to demand freedom for Belarusian trade union leaders and activists who remain behind bars.

Under Lukashenko’s dictatorship, all independent trade unions (BNP, SPB, SPM, REP) have been dissolved, and their leaders imprisoned. Today, dozens of trade union activists are in jail, hundreds have faced detention and persecution, and many are deprived of civil rights and placed under constant surveillance.

We call on everyone to support the fight for freedom and justice!
